Argumento
“Me llamo Robert Neville. Soy un superviviente que reside en Nueva York. Si hay alguien ahí… cualquiera, que sepas que no estás sólo…”

Robert Neville (Smith) es un brillante científico, pero ni él pudo contener el terrible virus hecho por el hombre y sin cura alguna. Ahora Neville, inmune, es el único ser humando en lo que queda de la ciudad de Nueva York y quizá del mundo. Durante tres años Neville ha enviado todos los días mensajes de radio, desesperado por encontrar cualquier otro superviviente que pueda estar ahí fuera. Pero no está solo. Mutantes, víctimas de la plaga (los infectados) están al acecho en cada sombra… vigilando cada movimiento que haga esperando a que un día cometa un fatídico error.

Puede ser que la última esperanza de la humanidad resida en Neville: encontrar una manera de hacer desaparecer los efectos del virus utilizando su propia sangre. Sin embargo, él sabe que le superan en nuevo y que el tiempo se le acaba…
